Q.Locking your desktop is always recommended, especially if your computer is vulnerable to access by different individulas. this will also ensure that the important data inside your computer won't be accessed by anyone but you. You can lock your computer by measns of just a double-click. Here is how you do it.
1) Right-click on the desktop and select 'New|Shortcut'. This will open the 'Create Shortcut Wizard'.
2) Here in the first text box, type '%windir%\System32\rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation' and give your shortcut a name of your choice. Then select 'Finish'
3) If you check properly, you will notice that the shortcut you just created will sport blank icon. To change the icon, right-click the shortcut and choose 'Properties'.
4) Now in the 'Shortcut' tab, click the 'Change Icon' button and in the 'Look fo icons in this file' box, type '%SystemRoot%\system32\SHELL32.dll'.
Now click 'OK' to see a number of icons that you can choose from for your new shortcut. Choose one that you like and your desktop locking shortcyt is ready.
